Awards Eligibility: You must be a member in good standing of the
Razor City Runners Club (for at least seven months, if first year).
Awards consist of:
Runner
of the Year - Female: Consistent, strong performance throughout the year. May not necessarily be the fastest
runner, may also be an individual who has excelled and gotten better throughout the year. Runner of the
Year - Male: Same as above Most Inspirational Runner (Female and/or Male):
Runner(s) who have overcome adversity, achieved a personal goal, and/or has been a motivation to others. Special
Recognition/Super Achievement (Female and/or Male): Runner(s) who have gone above and beyond in the past
year, achieved and extraordinary feat and/or some combination of all of the above. Friend of the Razor
City Runners Club: Need not be a member of the Club) - has been of great assistance or befriended
the Club in some way.
These recognition's need not all be awarded if qualifications are not met.
2008 Recognition Runner of the Year (Female): Carmen Aarsby-Edwards, a previous 'inspirational runner' who has kept running all year, coming back to complete
several major events. Runner of
the Year (Male): Jim Edwards, also a previous 'inspirational runner' who has
kept running all year, also making a comeback and completing several major events! Most Inspirational Runner (Female):
Carol Palmer - never quits! Most
Inspirational Runner (Male): Corky Stetson - broke up, beat
up, takes Lifeflight air ambulance helicopter rides out of necessity and still continues to run and workout!? Special Recognition/Super Achievement (Female): Sara Whitis - blazing fast -running Boston qualifying times and winning her division at the Denver Marathon plus
organizes our club's community involvement support! Special
Recognition/Super Achievement (Male): Sonny Roberts - fast - running Boston qualifying times,
and almost single-handedly orgainizes the "Midnight Edge 5K" for New Year's Eve! Friend(s) of the RCR Club: Kelly
Kalkhoff, Sara & Sonny - RCR still tags onto Kelly's website! Special recognitions for 2008?! 'Energizer Bunny' certificate awards went to 3 new Ultra Runners:
Anna, Bud & Gregg. Roger received an 'Energizer Bunny' certificate for his non-stop marathoning!
The "Impaired Runners" - crowns and Brer Rabbit Molasses - went to Anna & Wendy for their internal deficits
throughout the year!

Runner of the Year (Female): Sara
Whitis - commendable performances at Boston and Columbus Marathons
Runner of the Year (Male):
Roger Peabody - 5 marathons, 2 half marathons plus!
Most Inspirational
Runner (Female): Carmen Aarsby-Edwards, return from injury to complete half marathon AND
Maria Mansur who trained for and completed her first every half marathon.
Most Inspirational Runner (Male): Scott Rexroat, continues
to run strong and steady - requalifying for Boston!
Special
Recognition/Super Achievement (Female): Anna Hovde- quaified
for Boston (again), ran Boston, NYC & a 50K-finishing as 1st woman and now still training for a 50 miler
in January 08!
